Amidst a global pandemic and a national uprising towards racial justice, We Will Always Be Here is a call-and-response from Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island to protect the sacred and all living things.

We Will Always Be Here is a call-and-response from Indigenous and Native people from Nations across Turtle Island.  The call was an invitation to speak to what’s important right now. We asked, what does home mean to you? What IS land acknowledgement? Amidst this gathering of materials, George Floyd took his last breath on May 25th 2020. A revolution started to mobilized in our homelands. The Native/Indigenous community started mourning this loss and also took to the streets with our black relatives. This place is our home. Indigenous/Native people are sovereign and have defended our lands for over 500 years. “America” is now on stolen land, built by stolen people, who were stolen from their land. This is not our “America.” This is Turtle Island. This is the place of our ancestors and future generations yet to come. We will protect and defend the sacred just as we will protect every living thing on Mother Earth.
